Traffic Exchanges and branding yourself
If you are advertising an affiliate program directly on the Internet
you are making a massive mistake.
Why?
Because you are working to promote somebody else – the owner of the program.
Think about this for a second – you join this great new program
called "You beaut products" as do one thousand other hopeful
affiliates and inside the members area, the program owner gives you access to some great looking splash and affiliate pages. You’re really excited about this and load up your affiliate pages in some quality Traffic Exchanges ( As do nine hundred and fifty other hopeful affiliates). and you start promoting the program.
Now put yourself in the place of the Traffic Exchange Surfer who
only has maybe half an hour of dedicated surfing time and is hell
bent on getting advertising credits to advertise his own wonderful affiliate program.
He comes across your site the first time and it doesn’t even register.
He comes across somebody else’s affiliate site and it doesn’t register
And this goes on perhaps for several days until after seeing this site appear maybe one hundred times, something triggers an interest – familiarity? constant subliminal branding? Something says look at this a little closer and maybe he spends a minute looking at it, maybe he bookmarks it, maybe he thinks I’ll see it again, I’ll look closer next time, maybe if he’s real smart he says – could be interesting I might do some homework on that product.
Maybe he joins the program straight off the Traffic Exchange.
What chance have you got of winning the business?
At best one chance in nine hundred and fifty.
And who’s laughing?
The program owner – you and nine hundred and fifty affiliates have worked their butt off branding his program for him.
Hello? What was that you have been working as a click slave for
some rich fat cat who never told you this.
Stop promoting generic affiliate pages today and work on branding yourself because you are your business – not the program.
Thanks for reading, tomorrow I’ll give you some tips on how to start branding yourself on Traffic Exchanges and see your results fly through the roof.
Remember who your target matter is – offer to help them with their business using a splash page with your photo on it.
Include an autoresponse series with targeted helpful information containing affiliate links, include give aways freebies, make people see you as somebody worth doing business with.
I recommend Robert Puddy’s Instant Squeeze page generator as an excellent place to start the process of branding yourself

You bring up some good points in this post. A few of these thoughts had crossed my mind before but it definitely reminded me to make a few changes.
Hello;
Your article has hit the nail on the head! I see so many people expecting what will never happen becasue of what you outlined above.
Branding yourself is the only way to go. good job, I enjoyed the article.
Take Care,
Phil
you said the traffic exchange purpose is to build branding. But branding needs money. It means, we have to build autoresponder and sending market letters. Can you explain me what kind of niche we should sell in TE without build an autoresponder.
Hi, it’s a really good question.
To be frank, I find it impossible to imagine a successful Internet Marketing enterprise that doesn’t use an autoresponder, whatever medium of advertising they use. the king of Google adwords, Perry Marshall absolutely recommends the use of an autoresponder at all times, as do most SEO experts.
Autoresponders are not dear and in fact you can use a free one but deliverability rates are notoriously poor. Professionals use quality autoresponders that have high deliverability rates.
As I’ve said, the Traffic Exchange market is a market full of prospective Internet Marketers who are looking to make money – an autoresponder is an essential tool to keep in contact with these people. All Internet Marketing experts will tell you that an interested (and I emphasize the word interested) prospect may need to visit your site six to seven times before deciding to purchase from you. People return to websites when prompted and the best prompt is an autoresponder.
There is a case for promoting subscriptions to RSS feeds from Traffic Exchanges although my personal experience says that this is a comparatively uneconomical way of doing things.
Just as an aside, what do you thing the first thing I recommend to my subscriber list is?
It’s a quality autoresponder with a lucrative affiliate payplan – so yes my autoresponder theoretically costs me money, but in actual fact it earns me some tidy change, you can view my full thoughts on this at my sister site http://www.opportunities-home-business.com
Hopefully you can see how I use Traffic Exchanges effectively to build a really strong business.
Finally, if you’re not marketing directly to the Make Money Niche i.e Internet Marketing Opportunity Seekers then do not use a Traffic Exchange – you’re wasting your time
